Shaun Bartlett: ‘United will sneak a win this weekend’

Former South African footballer Shaun Bartlett predicted that Manchester United will win their match against Arsenal on Sunday, 12 January.

SHAUN BARTLETT: ‘UNITED WILL SNEAK A WIN THIS WEEKEND’

Bartlett, who played for Charlton Athletic in the Premier League, made the surprise prediction about Manchester United’s clash against Arsenal.

Bartlett predicted that United will “sneak” a win.

“This game is lined up for a surprise result, and I feel United will sneak a win this weekend,” said Bartlett in a comment shared to The South African by Showmax.

United clashes against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, 12 January.

The match will be streamed live on Showmax Premier League at 17:00.

Bartlett said that Ruben Amorim’s men can take plenty of encouragement from their game against Liverpool when they head to the Emirates this weekend.

United drew against Liverpool 2-2 at Anfield last weekend.

SHAUN BARTLETT CONFIDENT THAT UNITED CAN SPRING THAT SURPRISE!

The former footballer went on to say that he is confident that United can spring a surprise this weekend.

“I believe Arsenal will always be favourites at home, but United have shown that they can compete with their showing against Man City and Liverpool recently. Both games United played have shown glimpses of improvement, both away from home (Etihad and Anfield). It almost seems like they play better when not under pressure from their home fans,” he said.

Bartlett went on to predict that there will be goals in the game, but not as feisty as previous seasons.

“Games between these two very seldom produce fewer than two goals per game, that is why I feel there will be goals in this game but not as feisty as past seasons,” he continued.

Bartlett predicts that United will win 2-1 against Arsenal. He also praised the new United manager Ruben Amorim but has urged fans to be patient.

“We know he’s a good manager, but it always takes time to adapt to a new league or players that you didn’t sign. Once he gets players in that can play to his system, the team will get better results.”

WHO DO YOU THINK WILL WIN THE MATCH?

Arsenal vs Manchester United is always an exciting fixture, and predicting the winner depends on several factors such as current form, key player availability, and tactical approach.

Here’s a breakdown of each team’s strengths and potential weaknesses:

No offer’ from Kaizer Chiefs for prime transfer target

Arsenal:

  • Current Form: Arsenal has been strong in the Premier League under Mikel Arteta, especially at home. They are known for their attacking play, quick build-up, and solid defense.
  • Key Players: Bukayo Saka, Martin Ødegaard, and Gabriel Jesus have been central to Arsenal’s success this season, contributing goals and assists.
  • Strengths: Strong attacking depth, high pressing, and control of possession.
  • Weaknesses: Arsenal can sometimes struggle against top teams who can exploit spaces in their defense, especially if they press high.

Manchester United:

  • Current Form: Manchester United has had a more inconsistent season but still has the quality to cause problems for any team, especially with Erik ten Hag in charge.
  • Key Players: Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Casemiro are crucial for Manchester United, with Rashford in particular having a good run of form.
  • Strengths: Solid counter-attacking play, ability to exploit space behind defenses, and quality in midfield.
  • Weaknesses: United has had issues with consistency, particularly when defending against high-pressing teams and set pieces.

Prediction:

If Arsenal plays to their potential, especially at home, they have a slight edge due to their attacking prowess and the atmosphere at the Emirates. However, Manchester United can be dangerous on the counter and has the quality to turn up in big games.

Overall, I would lean slightly towards Arsenal winning, but it will likely be a close contest given the rivalry and quality of both teams. The match could be decided by individual moments of brilliance or tactical adjustments during the game.
